Inviting for Tree plantation at Shanthidhama, Challahalli, near Heserghatta to nature lovers.

We are creating a mini forest near Hesaraghatta in a protected land of 2.5 acres with numerous species including few uncommon and western ghat species. The area consists of 2 man made lakes to harvest rain water and all pits are interconnected with water lanes. Pits have been dug already. Each tree will be tagged with Tree ID and donor’s name. Trees will be guarded and saplings will be maintained for 3 years.

How you can support us?
• By volunteering to plant the saplings.
• By adopting a tree by individual or by company. Your tree will be tagged with your name.
• By donating 150 INR for each tree and donation will be exempted under 80G of Income tax act.

Like millions of people around the world I’ve been shocked by the
terrible events in Haiti.

Only now is the true scale of the disaster emerging. Reports now
suggest as many as 50,000 people may have died, with hundreds of
thousands made homeless.

The work ahead to recover from this tragedy is immense. So here’s our

International Monetary Fund, the Inter-American Development Bank, and

As a part of our Eco-Club activities we are conducting waste audit and
kite flying for school children in Siddaganga public school.

Tentative agenda:

15 mins: Recap of previous events and assignments.
45 mins: audit by children on identifying waste at school premises,
guided by LIFE volunteers. (3- 4 groups will be made form ECO club)
15 mins: mapping goal to eliminate waste.
15 min open item and conclusion like implementing to reduce waste
(your current year project at SPS)

We are also planning for teaching Kids to make Kites out of waste
plastic and organise a kite flying which is safe for birds too.
We intend to make children aware of flying kites without causing any
harm to birds
Kite should be made form waste plastic.We have already given some
ideas for re-using plastics.
We will display kite flying instructions in the school .Please go
through the link below and suggest for improvements.

Volunteers required-
1) We need one volunteer to teach making kite with waste plastic to
students.The school is near chandra layout.
2)Volunteers to be a part of our eco-schools initiative.

We are visiting kaggaladu on 14th nov, to have a discussion with
vilalge panchayat members and then distribute sweets and crayons to
the government school students.

Time :- 8.00 am
Where to meet :- KSRTC bus stand.
Mode of transportation:- KSRTC bus.
Return by:- 4.00pm
Expenses:-80 Rs to Sira, 10-20 Rs for local bus from sira to
kaggaladu. ( Total -200 Rs)
Painted storks may arrive by the end of this month.After which we are
doing a bird census.

There will be a small celebration organised by LIFE team on August 15 in Maruthi Primary school at 8.30 am.
1.The celebration will start with hoisting of the national flag followed by national anthem.
2.Volunteers giving an inspiring message.
3.Students will be invited to perform their talents. The program gives the poor children who live around our community a chance to perform on the stage.

Mr Lakshmi kanth manages to run the school without government aid, and is trying to get the children to the school else they would end up being a child labour.Most of them are financially backward and cannot afford schooling.
