Legal Workshop:

Starting a business can be both exciting and stressful. But, with proper planning and legal guidance, the process can be smooth and problem free.
There are a multitude of legal issues to think about when it comes to starting your business. Everything from your business name to its structure to its operation has legal implications. What follows is a sampling of some of the legal concerns you may want to address with your attorney before you start your business.
To guide you through the process NSRCEL is conducting a workshop on legal aspects for entrepreneurs on 03rd March 2016 from 10.00 AM-5.00 PM in association with S.C. Sharada from Lexavalorem & Karthik from Quasar Legal.
S.C. Sharada is a Company Secretary and law graduate with 25 years of professional corporate experience. Prior to setting up her own practice in 2006, she was the Company Secretary and Legal Counsel of Buhler India Pvt. Ltd., a swiss MNC in Bangalore. Currently she is offering company secretarial and legal consulting services to start-ups, joint ventures, wholly owned subsidiary and non-for-profit companies across various sectors. She offers mentoring services to start ups and is on the advisory Board of a technology company in the agri-business space.
Sharada is an alumni of IIMB, having completed the Fast Track General Management Programme in 2004. She is supporting the NSRCEL in its regulatory compliances and governance matters.
Sharada was the first woman Chairman of the Bangalore chapter of ICSI in 2014. She has served on the State Taxes Committee of BCIC as well as Manthan and Corporate Affairs Committees of FKCCI. She has addressed students, professionals and entrepreneurs on Company Law matters as an invited speaker. She loves writing and has been publishing an e-newsletter called ‘Lexspeak’ for the last 6 years focusing on the regulatory updates and compliances which is well received by both professionals and public.
S. A. Karthik is an alumnus of the National Law School, Bangalore, having graduated in 1997. He is the founder of a start-up law firm, Quasar Legal. Prior to founding Quasar, he was in-house legal counsel at Sasken Communication Technologies and a partner at Indus Law.
Karthik visits IIM-B a few times every year as guest faculty for the PGP, EPGP and PGSEM programmes. He has also been a resource person for IIMB’s ‘Start-Up Conclave’.
The fee for the Workshop is Rs.1500/- per person which includes the cost of lunch and refreshments. Please note that we intend to accommodate 25 participants in order to make it an engaging session. Given the limited seats, interested participants are advised to register at the earliest.
Looking forward to your participation.
