We at Vodafone Developer Program are pleased to announce our next workshop at our ‘Innovation Lab’ in Bangalore.

Samsung Developer Program will conduct their “Tizen Dev-Lab Bangalore” event at our Innovation Lab on 16th November. This program is targeted towards enthusiast developers to introduce & enable them to build mobile applications on Tizen platform! Subsequently there are plans to organize Tizen hackathon for interested developers. We are excited to work with developers/Companies.

About Tizen Platform : Tizen is an open source, standards-based software platform supported by leading mobile operators, device manufacturers, and silicon suppliers for multiple device categories such as smartphones, tablets, netbooks, in-vehicle infotainment devices, and smart TVs. Registration for the event is free, but it’s a must & seats are limited : http://tizen-devlab.doattend.com/

When you come to attend this event, you could also get a look at our lab and the various devices (from multiple handset vendors) and SDKs (from various software platforms) that are available for you to use (need we say – for free?!).

Join us for the Namma Bengaluru DUG session of Mobile Developer Week! 40 Salesforce DUGs from around the world will be meeting during this week, and all will be discussing mobile development and the new Salesforce Platform Mobile Services.

Spread the word, we have confirmed, our special speaker for the event Sandeep Bhanot is travelling from US to meet the developers in Bengaluru.

The venue for the event is Fortune Select Trinity in Whitefield.

Agenda:

– General overview of the 3 mobile dev. options – native, html5 and hybrid

– Brief intro to the Salesforce Mobile SDK

– Brief intro of the new Mobile Packs for jQuery Mobile, AngularJS and Backbone (http://blogs.developerforce.com/developer-relations/2013/04/html5-angularjs-backbone-mobile-service-packs.html)

– Walk-through of developing a Visualforce web app using one of the mobile packs (probably jQM)

– Converting a web app into hybrid app using the SDK

– Cloud Trivia at the end, get ready to win forcedotcom t-shirts and books

Prerequisites:

1. Bring your laptop

2. Data Card for internet access (Optional, if Hotel wi-fi doen’t hold up)

3. Salesforce Developer edition account (Signup here)

4. Optionally, any one of the two Salesforce Mobile SDKs installed – iOS or Android. The installation and pre-reqs for these SDKs are listed on GitHub – https://github.com/forcedotcom/SalesforceMobileSDK-iOSand https://github.com/forcedotcom/SalesforceMobileSDK-Android. Note that this prerequisites is entirely optional but useful.
