Thanks for Volunteers who have registered for the Plantation Drive on Saturday 4th June, 2016. We keep the registrations open till the last minute and anyone can join tomorrow morning directly at the venue.

Below is the plan :

7.45am – All volunteers Assemble at the School
8am – School Prayer followed by a speech by Mr. Murali regarding Environment awareness
8.30am – Volunteers introduction and start the plantation activity.
11.30am – Finish both Planting & Watering and ensure the plants are maintained even in case of high winds.. Protection for saplings are getting done and probably will be ready by Saturday.
12pm – Lunch
1pm – Vote of Thanks and disperse..

Volunteers are requested to have breakfast and assemble at the venue.
Refreshments and packed lunch will be arranged for all the volunteers.
No need to carry any extra accessories for planting. Everything will be provided at the venue.
For Ramanagar school, if any of you would like to volunteer for Car pooling, please let us know so that I can connect with others. Please call respective POC for any details.

Who can Donate blood?

Any donor, who is healthy, fit and not suffering from any transmittable diseases can donate blood.
Donor must be 18 -60 years age and having a minimum weight of 50Kg can donate blood.
Donor’s Hemoglobin level should be 12.5 gm% minimum.
A donor can again donate blood after 3 months of your last donation.
Pulse rate must be between 50 to 100 beats/min without any irregularities.
BP Diastolic 50 to 100 mm Hg and Systolic 100 to 180 mm Hg.
Body temperature should be normal and oral temperature should not exceed 37.5 degree Celsius.
Who can not donate blood?
Donors who are suffering from hypertension, kidney ailments, epilepsy or diabeties.
If you have donated blood in last three months.
If you are treated for malaria within the last three months.
If donor undergone any immunization within the past one month.
If donor consumed alcohol within the last 24 hours.
If donor had a dental work for next 24 hours and wait for one month if donor had a major dental procedure.

Do you want to trek & experience the Enchanting views of beautiful Western ghats of Karnataka then what are you waiting for??? Just go ahead and register for one of the must do treks in western ghats -“Amedikallu”. BAT is exploring Amedikallu on next weekend.

Registrations open for “2Days Trek to Amedikallu on 14th & 15th November 2015”


About the place:
Amedikallu (height 1299 m), near village Shishila in Dharmasthala is one of the significant peaks of Charmadi range and there are three approaches to this peak. The name Amedikallu is a combination of two words: Ame – Turtle and dikkel – Tulu word for Stove. Amedikallu has a huge monolith at the top which appears like a giant turtle and 3 huge stones which give an appearance of a stove. This peak is surrounded by many other important peaks of Western Ghats.


​Trek Distance: Around 12 to 14 Kms.
Grade: Moderate
Approximate Cost: 2300/-

Forest Fees+ Guide charge= 400/-
Miscellaneous = 400/-

Who can Join:
1. Only BAT member can join the event.
2. Any one who is new to trekking & experienced trekkers.

Who cannot Join:
Anyone who has attitude problem, who cannot follow BAT rules & who cannot adhere to Organizers instructions which can bring down the team spirit.

1. Do not expect luxury in the event as BAT is not a service provider.
2. Shortlisting is done based on volunteering, payment & previous trek experience.
3. Go though the Drop out policy before registering.
4. Expenses of the event will be equally shared among all the participants on actual basis & remaining amount will be refunded.
