About treesforfree:

Rajanet Yegneswaran Charitable Trust http://www.treesforfree.org, is a Registered Trust planting trees in Bangalore with the help of volunteers. We have 12A, 80G and FCRA clearance. Since its inception in 2005, 43,000 tree saplings have been planted in Schools, Colleges, Orphanages, Residential Layouts, Gated Communities, Government Offices, Corporate Offices, army lands, lake beds, etc. The saplings are planted only in places where the citizens water and look after them. In open places and in schools, the saplings are planted with bamboo tree guards to protect them. For the farmers in interior village covering a distance of 100 kms, fruit trees like grafted Mango, Sapota, Guava are planted to benefit them. The saplings are planted throughout the year. The organisation has received ‘Earth Award’ 2011 from Times Foundation.

The tree planting is sponsored by individuals for birthdays, anniversary, house warming, in rememberence of loved ones etc. Corporates sponsor for CSR. The sponsoring cost covers only the cost of making pits, cost of sapling, manure, bamboo tree guards and the transportation and handling. The tff volunteers and a Corporate have contributed towards a Bolero Campher Gold for transportation of materials. We have been given a place by a volunteer for storing the saplings in the heart of the City.

As the planting has increased considerably from 250 nos in the first two years to 7 to 8,000 per year, and the requests for planting are increasing every day, we are finding it difficult to sustain the operations and to grow. We need financial help and hence the request to run & raise funds for treesforfree to sustain and grow. The cheques are to be made in the name of ‘Rajanet Yegneswaran Charitable Trust’ and posted to No.11, 20 ‘L’ Cross, Sri Rama Temple Road, Ejipura, Viveknagar Post, Bangalore 560 047and bank transfer details are:
