Registration for April 20th 2013 Green Event


Forest Under Construction – An Oppurtunity to serve Mother Nature

When : 20th April 2013 ( Saturday ) from 8:00am to 4:30pm
Where: Ramakrishna Mission Campus, Shivanahalli, Anekal Road, Bannerghatta.

A green event & Eco-walk programme-a regular monthly event for this month is planned on 20th April 2013 ( Saturday ) at Ramakrishna Mission Campus, Shivanahalli, Anekal Road, Bannerghatta.

The programme will commence at 8:30am soon after breakfast. This will be followed by “Know your Nature” walk, introducing to the world of wildlife and nature with bird watching, know the plants- why symmetry in nature, butterflying, landscape ecology, intricate pattern of nature etc, culminating to the Forest under construction ( Project Kaanana ) site, where interested volunteers can deweed, collect paper and plastics etc. and water the saplings which were planted during earlier afforestation program and pay respect to Mother Nature.

After lunch, series of interactive talks are planned:

1. Swami Vishnumayanandaji to address the gathering
2. Nature-Mind & Technology : A interactive lecture – By Dr. Yellappa Reddy, Environmentalist and former Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, Chairman , Karnataka Biodiversity Committee, BBMP
3. Few Amazing Birds – By Prahallad CR
4. Video discussion on Battle to Save The Tiger.

Its time again to reconnect with nature, and enjoy the flora and fauna around Bannerghatta.

This month’s Third Sunday Trail will be held on 21st April 2013

Place : Around Hulimangala

Meeting Time : 6.30 am

Meeting Point : Hulimangala Govt.School

Wikimapia Coordinates:12°48’49″N 77°38’14″E

Comfortable clothing,good walking shoes, cap,snacks,water bottle,binocular ( if you have),camera ( if you like to shoot) ,rain wear and a note book & pen if you like to list the things that you see, is what you need to join the trail.

This outing is free and open to all ages who can walk the trail of around three to four hours.

We recommend car pooling.

Also request the participants to observe and note the sightings and share it on bngbirds@yahoogroups.com.

We also look forward to see our photographs of the trail on the forum too…:-)
